i took my time: there is you, me, and nothing we can do about it.

^ this has no significance what so ever. (ahhah my life is so boring) i just thought it sounded poetntially quite beautiful. and i suppose i'm hypothetically waiting for it to be applicaple one day.

i didn't catch the full opening ceremony for the olympics. looking at the ads i think i missed out on quite a bit. i saw the snippets and was like WAH MASS GAMES! i know that there is allowance for nothing less, but still seeing the perfect syncronization of hundreds playing the drums or whatever is nothing short of impressive. da chinese take dis shat seriouzly. i started watching from about the time italy and singapore stepped out. the atheletes were so cute to watch. an international representation of excitable human beings, digicams, waving flags and all. the weird on the spot floor mural thing was a really good idea too.

LOL there's a chinese male gynmast for USA on now. quote the commentator, "he's adopted the name of kevin." HAHHAHAHAAH. my sister says he does look like a kevin. i think that the male gynmasts seem notably less gay this year! they actually look pretty hot, like all other real sportsMEN. but perhaps it's always been so, and the unease generated by looking at a shaking male trying to do a scale (that's the move my sister calls it), i think it's just the russians. haha!!

anyway, from the point i started watching the ceremony yest, i did manage to catch the funny dove dance. which was. quite disturbing. however all was redeemed with the LIGHTING OF THE CAULDRON. i'm really lazy to expound on it, but the whole concept of running around the stadium suspended, and espesially the literal as well as metaphorical passing of the light from the small torch to the large monumental one, unscrolled and unravelled, that was like PHWOAR! the flames just propelled skywards and burst forth. beautiful. and hearing the very audible audience with their collective WHOA. if you think about it, that is completely representative of OUR univseral whoa as people, everyone all over the world watches china and the olympics this '08, together.

okay i was supposed to type a chunk on art coursework that's pretty impt and interesting. but i don't have time anymore. something about all the men who loiter at camera shops thinking they know everything (whether or not they do indeed), something about what my medium is really, and something about how i now know why i feel so uncomfortable using digital for what i'm trying to achieve. funny how it was all subconscious, but completely sensible.

and i managed to get a second hand excellent condition nikon f801s!!! it's my baby now. lol this india american on vault just did this really funny solid quick landing. and there was this swiss dude on floor omg damn poor thing he screwed up a landing damn badly. i felt so bad for him cause you can only imagine how difficult it would be to recompose yourself psychologically. and it translates to his psysical movement, you can see the restraint. at the end of his routine you could see him mouth the f word while walking away, and after a pause the commentator was like "...you can tell he's disappointed." haha but everyone understands la.
